Congratulations to Dr. Cheryl Gregory-Evans for her contribution to the largest review of molecular genetic testing in inherited retinal dystrophies in Canada--"Molecular genetic diagnostics for inherited retinal dystrophies in the clinical setting" published in The Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology. This work demonstrates that there is an important need for new research into molecular genetic causes of inherited retinal dystrophies. In particular, more work needs to be done in addressing the problem of interpreting a variant of uncertain significance in ethnic minorities. Dr. Gregory-Evans is a faculty member in Subcluster 1: Molecular, Cellular and Eye and Subcluster 4: Ophthalmic Imaging for Eye and Brain Disease.
