Study Finds Gender Disparities in Ophthalmology Leadership in Canada

Congratulations to first author Mahraz Parvant and Dr. Sonia Yeung for their contributions to the study, "Closing the Gender Gap Among Canadian Ophthalmology Societies", published in Seminars in Ophthalmology. This study showed that males were more prevalent in executive positions, particularly in presidential roles among Canadian ophthalmology societies. Further, the gender distribution in leadership reflected the gender composition of practicing ophthalmologists in Canada. Parvand is a medical student co-supervised by Dr. Sonia Yeung and correspondence author Dr. Femida Kherani.
