Ms. Parvand holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Master of Science degree in Experimental Medicine from the University of British Columbia. She is currently enrolled in the Vancouver Campus pursuing her medical degree, which is expected to be conferred in the class of 2024. During her Master's program, Ms. Parvand utilized C. elegans to investigate the genetic underpinnings of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimers and Parkinson's Diseases.
Ms. Parvand has been actively involved in both basic and clinical research since 2014 and has published extensively in diverse areas such as neuroscience, cardiology, and otolaryngology. Her current research interests revolve around gender disparities in ophthalmology, and she is actively working on several case reports. Ms. Parvand is keen to collaborate with other researchers in the field of ophthalmology and visual sciences to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in this domain.
When not engaged in academic pursuits, Ms. Parvand enjoys playing competitive tennis, traveling to new destinations, and exploring the local culinary scene in Vancouver.
