School of Biomedical Engineering
Faculty of Applied Science
Ms. Xie is a first year Master of Engineering student in Biomedical Engineering. She received her Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science at the University of Toronto. Her undergraduate thesis was related to muscle tissue engineering. Because she found research was interesting, Ms. Xie stayed in the field of biomedical engineering and is looking for opportunities to gain more experiences. By joining the Research Excellence Cluster in Vision, Ms. Xie hopes to learn about the cutting-edge research in the field and understand how biomedical engineering can play a role in developing and improving therapies. For the near future, she wants to work in industry as a biomedical engineer. Mx. Xie hopes to explore the field and choose one route to dive deeper into by enriching her skillset or even pursuing another degree. If she could collaborate with other researchers, she would work with clinical researcher and bioeningeers to explore possible new therapies for diseases related to human eyes.
Ms. Xie's hobbies are watching musicals and walking on different streets and cities. They are both relaxing and enjoyable.
