Dr. Hyejin Chung received her MD, PhD, and MS from the College of Medicine of the Catholic University in Seoul, Korea. Her areas of expertise are in ophthalmology and glaucoma. Recently, Dr. Chung is interested in changes in the eyes due to the progression of myopia. Previous studies have examined how the changes of optical coherence tomography in the retinal nerve fiber layer with the progression of myopia, as well as how biometric features of the eye change with myopia progression. Currently, she is investigating the optic disc changes 10 years after refractive surgery in patients. Dr. Chung has been seeing patients and performing surgeries as a clinician for a significant part of her job, and now she would like to collaborate with researchers from different fields to study and develop ways that can potentially benefit clinical practices.

Dr. Chung's favourite travel spot is the Gangwon Province where she can enjoy delicious foods and beautiful scenery.
