Dr. Obasanmi completed his PhD in Medicine in Experimental Ophthalmology and Master of Research in Molecular Medicine from Queen's University in Belfast, UK. His areas of specialization are mechanisms of neovascular eye diseases, developing preclinical eye disease models, and drug discovery and repurposing. Recently, Dr. Obasanmi has been working on elucidating the role of granzyme B in age-related macular degeneration using various disease models, and repurposing treatments for use in the ophthalmology therapeutic area. If he could work with other researchers, Dr. Obasanmi would love to collaborate with clinical, wet-lab and computational researchers to accelerate the development of novel tools for the diagnoses and treatments of ocular diseases.

Dr. Obasanmi enjoys reading, photography and painting. His favourite travel spot is Venice, Italy because it is a beautiful ‘floating’ city.
