Dr. Ma received his Ph.D. in medical and biomedical imaging at the University College London. His area of expertise is in medical image computing, computational anatomy and neurodegenerative diseases. Recently, Dr. Ma has been building clinically-explainable machine-learning and artificial intelligence models for differential diagnosis, early detection and disease prognosis for both retinal and brain diseases. Data enhancement and harmonization for ophthalmic imaging (e.g. OCT) and neuroimaging (e.g. MRI) for clinically-translatable medical image computing and prediction models. Dr. Ma would be interested in collaborating with researchers with diverse backgrounds including clinical researchers and imaging scientists. His research is highly translational, connecting computational method development to clinical-implementable pipeline building. Therefore, working with clinicians and imaging scientists could potentially help the collaborative team to joint force with multi-disciplinary backgrounds.
Dr. Ma loves nature and sports, especially aquatic activities. Therefore, swimming and boating are among his favourite hobbies.
