Amir Hosseini is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of British Columbia. Driven by a passion for research, he has actively worked on both clinical and experimental studies. In the Department of Psychiatry, Mr. Hosseini utilized optogenetics and electrophysiology to better understand the anterior cingulate cortex and motivation in rats. In the Department of Emergency Medicine, he contributed to investigating road-related injuries by interacting with patients in a clinical setting. Recently, he has been working on understanding the role of amyloid beta in the retina of both human and animal models of Alzheimer's disease. If Mr. Hosseini could collaborate with other researchers, he would work with clinicians and basic scientists.
During his spare time, Mr. Hosseini enjoys reading, working out, and spending time with friends and family.
