New Collaborative Project Receives SSHRC Funding: Advancing Social-Emotional Intelligence in Construction Robots for Seamless Human-Robot Collaboration on Construction Sites

Congratulations to Research Excellence Cluster in Vision's faculty members, Dr. Hee Yeon Im, Dr. Helge Rhodin, and their colleagues for successfully securing the 2023 SSHRC New Frontiers in Research Fund - Exploration. Lead by Dr. Zhengbo Zou from UBC Civil Engineering and valued at $242K, this 2-year collaborative research project will explore the "Social-emotional intelligence in construction robots: Reducing barriers for dynamic human-robot collaboration in construction environments". Dr. Hee Yeon Im is a Co-Principal Investigator and Dr. Helge Rhodin is a Collaborator in this collaborative project, which consists of research groups spanning the Faculty of Applied Science, Faculty of Arts, and Faculty of Science at UBC.
