Dear Research Excellence Cluster in Vision Members,
The UBC’s Research Excellence Cluster in Vision or “Vision Cluster” is embarking on the development of a strategic plan to help set a cohesive direction and priorities for the next 5 years. We believe a strategic plan will help give us a competitive edge in future large-scale interdisciplinary grant applications including the NSERC CREATE, NFRF-Transformation, and CFREF. The strategic plan will lay out our vision, mission and goals, how we intend to achieve them, and how we will measure and communicate our progress toward the desired outcomes that we establish for the Vision Cluster through this process.
With the support of UBC’s Strategy and Decision Support team, we are initiating the strategic planning process this month, to launch our new strategic plan in July/August 2024. Throughout this process, we will seek your valuable input to develop a strategic plan that will set the course for the Vision Cluster for the coming 5 years.
As a first step in this process, in the coming weeks, we will be reaching out to you for your input and perspective regarding the key opportunities and challenges facing the Vision Cluster now and into the foreseeable future.
